Upgrades at T.W. Moses Facility

Work to continue through summer/fall 2010

To ensure compliance with more stringent drinking water standards, Veolia & Indianapolis Water are making substantial improvements to the T.W. Moses Water Treatment Facility near Eagle Creek Park.

When complete, the improvements will improve drinking water quality and provide additional protection from disease-causing microorganisms that may be present in raw water, and from contaminants that can form during drinking water treatment processes.

Project Schedule:

  • Preliminary Engineering report developed – May 2008 Complete
  • Design initiated - March 2009  Complete
  • Mobilization activities – May 2009  Complete
  • Anticipated MDC Approval – June 2009  Complete
  • Construction begins - June/July 2009  In Progress
  • Project completion - Summer/Fall 2010

June 18, 2010 UPDATE

The T.W. Moses Treatment Plant was returned to service in April. It had been out of service during since December. The portions of the technical upgrades project that have been put into service include; new sludge collectors and tube settlers in both basins, the re-baffled contact basin, and new filter effluent piping.

Construction will continue through the summer and in to the fall of 2010.
