Upgrades at T.W. Moses Facility

Work to continue through summer/fall 2010

To ensure compliance with more stringent drinking water standards, Veolia & Indianapolis Water are making substantial improvements to the T.W. Moses Water Treatment Facility near Eagle Creek Park.

When complete, the improvements will improve drinking water quality and provide additional protection from disease-causing microorganisms and contaminants that can form during drinking water treatment processes.

Project Schedule:

  • Preliminary Engineering report developed – May 2008 Complete
  • Design initiated - March 2009  Complete
  • Mobilization activities – May 2009  Complete
  • Anticipated MDC Approval – June 2009  Complete
  • Construction begins - June/July 2009  In Progress
  • Project completion - Summer/Fall 2010

February 2, 2010 UPDATE

There will be a considerable amount of concrete work ocurring at the plant during the next two weeks.

Next 2 weeks

  • Pour slabs and walls at the Actiflo Building.
  • Remove shoring from the UV Building.
  • Install pipe and new clarifier equipment at the low basin at the Gravity Thickener.
  • Install new baffles in the existing chlorine contact tank.
  • Install tube settler support steel in the high basin.
  • Install low basin clarifier (zone2).
