Quality
Drinking water quality is very important to Indianapolis Water. Many significant efforts and investments are made to ensure that the water supplied to our customers is safe to drink. It begins with the protection of our source water and continues with quality control in the water treatment process as well as in the maintenance of the distribution system. All of our drinking water treatment plants that treat water drawn from surface water sources are continuously staffed by certified, trained, experienced operators.
Assurance of drinking water quality produced by all our treatment plants includes an extensive battery of water quality testing to ensure that no harmful traces of either chemical or microbial contaminants are present in the water. Information about water sources, results of testing for the presence of regulated parameters and how to obtain additional information is summarized in our Annual Water Quality Review published and distributed as directed by the Consumer Confidence Report Rule.
